Eyelash extension supplies & products

While I have fairly long lashes naturally, they’re bleach blonde, which means I feel like a naked mole rat when I’m not wearing eye makeup. So when eyelash extensions first started getting popular, I didn’t take a breath before booking an appointment. I hurriedly booked one of the first lash artists that showed up on google in my neighborhood, and did very little research before having them done. For starters, you can't use an oil-based eye makeup remover—that'll loosen up the glue and cause the extensions to fall out faster. It's also recommended to cleanse them and brush them daily with a little spoolie brush that's usually provided, along with applying a lash conditioner, like the luxuriating lash conditioning serum. "Gentle for everyday use, the unique formula helps stimulates the growth of hair follicles while strengthening and moisturizing," says richardson.

Plus, you can say goodbye to fumbling with glue and having your false eyelashes come off prematurely. Here at deka lash our lash artists are highly trained experts in eyelashes and stand behind our work. You will receive a top-quality experience while maintaining your natural lash health.

But with that being said, you can do everything right and still find that eyelash extensions cause breakage to your natural eyelashes. There are factors that you have no control over that can compromise your natural lashes—including causing your natural lashes to fall out or break off. You might think that washing your lashes will make them fall off faster, but phillips debunks that myth and stresses the importance of washing away any buildup that can cause breakage. Richardson recommends only use cleansers specifically formulated to be safe for eyelash extensions.focus lashes  Other products may contain ingredients that can weaken the bond of your lash extensions and cause them to shed prematurely. And if you’re wearing eye makeup, use oil-free pads and gently swipe downward, rather than back and forth, to get your lids and lashes clean.

If you are unable to get lash extensions for any reason, for example if you happen to be allergic to the adhesive, deka lash lifts are another gentle, easy alternative for bold, confident lashes! Lash lifts are also perfect for special events and day-to-day use. If you are getting a deka lash lift for a special event, be sure to book your service at least 3 days in advance to allow the "perm” to fully set. Also, remember to not get your lashes wet or apply mascara for at least 48 hours. They can enhance almost anyone’s eyelashes, which means you’ll wake up with fuller, longer, darker lashes—but not without paying the price. But with that being said, eyelashes are hair after all, and in most cases will grow back within a few weeks.

Avoid getting eyelash extensions while you’re undergoing medical procedures of the eye, such as lasik surgery or chemotherapy and radiation. Eyelash extensions are pricey and require upkeep, but they give your eye natural volume that renders mascara unnecessary. If you apply makeup regularly, this is a definite time-saver worthy of the commitment.

To extend the life of the extensions, richardson recommends using a lash conditioner (yes, it exists!) and to gently comb through your lashes with a dry spoolie brush. She also recommends getting "refills” every two to three weeks to fill in any sparse areas. You’ll want to show up to your appointment with clean skin and no eye makeup. That means absolutely no eyeshadow, eyeliner, and/or mascara. Anything on your lids or lashes could affect how your extensions turn out, so definitely make sure to wash your face beforehand. From there, it’ll be easier to decide how much weight of lash extensions the natural lash can handle.
